Title: RELENTLESS – Part 2

In order to have what you really want, you have to be authentic to yourself. Know the answer to these questions: “who are you?” “what are you?” “what makes you tick?” “what makes you excited and passionate?” We don’t know the answers to these questions until we sit down and really think about them. And I don’t mean asking someone what they think. I mean that you come up with the answer to these questions…yourself.

Trust who you are. Trust what you feel inside. Don’t make excuses for being passionate about Beanie Babies. Don’t shy away from absolutely LOVING twangy country western music and trying to collect every recording you can. Don’t make excuses for wanting to compete in the Boston Marathon. Being relentless means knowing what you want and never being satisfied.

How do you approach situations? Are you one who sits on the sidelines and waits to see what someone else will do? Then, you say, “Oh yeah….I think that too.” Tim Grover would call you a ‘cooler’. These people wait to be told what to do, or try to follow the leader.

Are you one who can handle pressure and get the job done…if you are put in the right situation? Do you shine when in your element? Grover would call you a ‘closer’. These people are at their best and are most comfortable when they can anticipate what will be needed, so they can plan and be prepared. But, they struggle when something unexpected happens (which is pretty much all the time…right?)

Are you one who trusts your gut, goes with what you think needs to be done, doesn’t wait to be told what to do, and enter a situation knowing you will succeed? Grover would call you a ‘cleaner’.

Cleaners create opportunities. So, what are you going to do today that creates an opportunity? The opportunity can be for you, your team, your family, your friends, the clerk at Super Target. Just stay true to yourself.
