Title: THE LEADER’S SURVIVAL GUIDE – Part 2

• People work in the mess. Show your front-line workers that you value them. Learn from them, also.
• Emotions can get high. Remember to just be a good person.
• Remember that every one of your employees have to face reality every single day. For most, this reality is much different than yours.
• Have the sense that every stint you go through, will pass.
• Be proactive and intentional about getting advice from others.
• Keep connected to the people who use your business. Always remember “why”.
• Do what you like. Do what you love. Do what’s interesting to you, because people can spot inauthenticity.
• Remember that not everything you think, is right.
• Be willing to take a chance and enter unknown territory. Be willing to be criticized. This is where you learn.
• You can find a reason to stay at work all night, every night. There will always be work to do. But, if you do that, not only will your job performance suffer….so will your personal life.
• Work situations can be intense. It can become easy to go a long time without meaningful contact outside of work. This is too much sacrifice, and the candle just goes out faster when you burn it from both ends.
• Reach out. Interact with others. Ask opinions from others.
