Title: MOVING FORWARD – Part 3

Are you aware of your natural talents? How do you make sense out of situations? Can you read people? Do you have a gift for seeing how to solve a problem? Do you have difficulty seeing the long-term effect of a decision or choice? These are all questions which need to be answered, in order to steer yourself on the right path.

We all know people who work year after year to reach a goal, only to find they aren’t fired up about it…once they’ve reached it. This is more than just travel fatigue. It’s a result of moving forward (albeit done very well) in the wrong direction. The result is disappointment and despondency.

Self-awareness is your GPS. But, it has to be programmed correctly on the front end. In this time of transition, whether your decisions are large or small, take some time to reflect on how your choice fits with who you are. Ask yourself the hard questions. Talk to a person you trust to see how your idea fits over your skin. Go forward with positive thinking and courage. Remember, there will always be bumps in the road. Even Dr. Seuss knew this when writing about how successful we will be as we move forward. He wisely reminds us: “except when you don’t; because sometimes you won’t.” That’s when we recalibrate our GPS based on finer tuned self-awareness.
